About
Fees and how we are paid
You should be able to see how an advisor is paid before you decide whether to trust the advice.
Insurance
When you buy an insurance policy through us, the insurance company pays the advisor a commission. You do not pay a separate fee for that advice, and the premium is the same whether you buy through an advisor or not. We will tell you which insurers we represent and which one is paying on your policy.
Planning and investments
The fee schedule for planning work and for investment accounts is being confirmed with AT Financial Group. We will state this here once confirmed, in dollars and percentages rather than in ranges, and we will state it to you in writing before you sign anything.
What the 20-minute review includes
There is no charge for the first conversation, and no obligation at the end of it.
- A read of your certificate of authorization and your last corporate return.
- A look at the coverage you hold now, including the definition of disability in the contract.
- The three things we would raise first, with the Ontario figures behind each one.
- An honest answer on whether there is anything worth doing together, including when there is not.
